Call For Creative: ISO local BIPOC artists
The Gerrard India Bazaar BIA is seeking a local BIPOC (Black, Indigenous and People of Colour) artist to design some social distancing sidewalk decals.
Written commitment/ sign contract: August 6th
Approval stage: August ? (to be discussed)
Deadline for submission to print: August 19th (AM)
Installation date: August 27th
Artist Fee: $500
Our Concept: Mandala style decals encouraging social distancing throughout the BIA, that reflect our South Asian Roots. (See photo for a preview of what some neighboring BIAs have implemented)
Requirements: Must be able to produce ready to print files fit for professional printing.
*Preference may be given to artists who reside nearby the Gerrard India Bazaar BIA – Gerrard Street East, between Coxwell and Glenside, in Leslieville. So please indicate if you live nearby.
Nice to have: We have discussed including a small QR code, which would require seamless implementation into the design. (All specs will be confirmed during the selection process)
Bonus: Your work will be professionally photographed, filmed, and documented as part of the STEPS initiative ‘Main Street Challenge’.
